Country Ham Breakfast Kit

A complete country ham breakfast built the traditional way: skillet-seared ham, fresh biscuits, red eye gravy, and something sweet on the side. This kit brings together the essential components for a full, old-school morning at home, packed together and ready to deliver a serious breakfast spread.

Two packs of Broadbent Country Ham Breakfast Steaks provide the centerpiece. Salt-cured and smoked, these steaks brown quickly in a hot skillet, releasing the savory drippings that define a proper Southern breakfast. Two packs of Broadbent Country Ham Biscuit Slices round out the ham selection, cut thin and ready to layer into warm biscuits or serve alongside the plate.

Tait Farms Drop Biscuit Mix keeps the baking straightforward, producing tender, home-style biscuits that hold up to gravy and ham. Julia’s Pantry Red Eye Gravy Mix is designed to be prepared using the drippings from cooking the ham, creating a rich, coffee-kissed gravy that ties the plate together. A jar of Tait Farms Apple Butter adds a smooth, fruit-forward contrast, bringing a sweet balance to the salt and smoke.

Everything arrives boxed together but individually packaged for flexible storage. The country ham products are shelf stable and do not require refrigeration until opened. Store pantry items in a cool, dry place, and refrigerate apple butter after opening.

Ways to Use the Kit

Biscuits and Red Eye Gravy: Bake the biscuits, sear the ham steaks in a hot skillet, then prepare the red eye gravy in the same pan using the ham drippings. Spoon the gravy over split biscuits and serve the steaks alongside.

Country Ham Biscuit Sandwiches: Warm the biscuit slices and layer them inside freshly baked biscuits for classic breakfast sandwiches, with gravy on the side or spooned lightly over the top.

Sweet and Salty Plate: Serve ham steaks with warm biscuits and a generous spoonful of apple butter for a balanced combination of smoke, salt, and fruit sweetness.

Salty by nature. Here's how to handle it.

Country ham is dry-cured with salt and hickory smoke, not injected with water like a spiral or honey-baked ham. That's why it keeps without refrigeration, and it's why it tastes the way it does. If this is your first country ham, expect it to be noticeably saltier than any ham from the grocery store. That's exactly why this kit pairs it with biscuits, gravy, and apple butter.

  • Serve small. One breakfast steak or one biscuit slice per person is a serving. Think of the ham as the flavor on the plate, not the whole plate.
  • Soak if you like. 30 minutes to an hour in cold water or milk, then pat dry before it hits the skillet. Optional — plenty of folks skip it.
  • Let it do the seasoning. Skip added salt in the gravy and eggs, and lean on the butter, apple butter, and biscuits to balance it.

who ever is in your shipping department needs to look at a map and explain how they figured a package would ground ship to Alaska in 3 days. the package should have gone air parcel then ot would have gotten here in 3 days not the almost 5 weeks. do you really believe that the meat is still good

Hello, thanks for reaching out. What you ordered is actually shelf stable and perfectly capable of traveling ground for as long as needed. Because the meat is salt cured it does not need to be refrigerated. Thank you!

Country Ham Center Steak

Cook as printed on directions. Product was salty AF.!!!! We’ll try the second package see if it’s any better. Disappointed so far.

Hey Gary - these country hams are very salty by nature. If you don't have a lot of experience with them and know that you want to have less salt the next time we would strongly suggest soaking the ham in milk, coffee, or warm water to draw out some of the salt before cooking. Usually 10-30 minutes will make a big difference. Hope this helps!
